Award-winning Chisolm's Restaurant

Now that its kitchen has been renovated, our historic, award-winning Chisolm's Restaurant, upstairs in Caves House hotel, is reopened for dinner, 7 days a week, serving 'modern Australian' cuisine, with a classic French flair. Our new head chef is very impressive!

You can even purchase wine from the wine cellar hidden inside one of our famous caves.

Caves House hotel was designed in 1897 by Walter Liberty Vernon, in the Federation Arts & Crafts style, as a retreat for the wealthy. Vernon's design included an enormous grand dining room (completed in 1924) - now the magnificent Chisolm's Restaurant - one of Australia's two remaining 'grand dining rooms' from that era.  Eating in the grand dining room is an experience in itself!

You don't need to be an overnight guest.  Simply drop in for a delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner.  For dinners, we recommend you book ahead.  Chisolm's is wonderful for a family get-together, romantic dinner for 2, family or corporate function or special occasion - even a wedding!

Miss Chisolm, the resident ghost
Chisolm's Restaurant is named after Miss Chisolm who worked in Caves House hotel for many years, finally leaving in 1965. Miss Chisolm is now thought to be one of Jenolan's ghosts. For stories about Miss Chisolm and many other tales of Jenolan's unexplained occurances, see a booklet written by Rob Whyte, one of our cave guides.
