how to get to Jenolan Caves
Most visitors drive to Jenolan Caves, where there is plenty of free parking. However, fuel is NOT available at Jenolan. So, fill your tank at Mount Victoria, Lithgow or Oberon.

Jenolan Caves is in National Park - please do not bring animals.

The road into the Jenolan Valley is not suitable for caravans, and we no longer have a campground. You can park your caravan in Lithgow, Hartley, Bathurst or Oberon and drive down to Jenolan.

If driving from Sydney, go west on the M4 Motorway, which becomes the Great Western Highway. Drive passed Katoomba.  At the historic village of Hartley, turn left at the Jenolan Caves turnoff. Jenolan Caves Road passes through Hampton and finally arrives at Jenolan Caves. This trip offers spectacular scenery (west of Katoomba), on a sealed road. The trip can be completed in 3 hours from Sydney Airport. If you have time, explore the Blue Mountains along the way.  Note that the last section of the road into the Jenolan Valley is one way from 11.45am to 1.15pm everyday. This allows coaches to enter Jenolan safely on the narrow road. Visitors can still leave Jenolan during these times - via the Oberon Road which is now fully sealed.

If driving from Canberra, bypass busy Sydney and drive along the fully sealed Tablelands Way via Goulburn and Taralga - a beautiful, picturesque drive - only 3 hours to Jenolan.

Disabled parking - next to the Guides Office (2 spots) and behind Caves House (1 spot). Please remember to display your disabled driver notice on your windscreen when you park your car.
