The Explorer Bar (upstairs in Caves House) is open every evening, and provides a cosy, charming atmosphere in which to relax before dinner. A wide range of local, premium and imported bottled beers, wines, spirits and our specialty cocktails are available.

 

Light bar meals (for example, fish & chips) are served in the evenings, as an alternative to dining in the grand dining room.

 

Also, on weekends and throughout NSW school holidays, the bar is open from 12:30 to 2pm, serving alcoholic drinks and coffee.  (This is handy to remember when the downstairs licensed cafe is particularly busy.)

The bar's charming sunken lounge is often the setting for our wine & cheese events and can be used for intimate functions, such as small weddings.
