Saturday, December 14, come to Jenolan Caves' biggest annual event, with Santa Claus, all the best-loved Christmas Carols and fantastic performers. Get yourself in the mood for Christmas! This year, the event will be hosted by TV's SCOTT MCRAE.
We are thrilled to present two spectacular Christmas carols concerts in the massive 'twilight' cave, the Grand Arch. Join in traditional Christmas carols, with a range of amazing singers and musicians, who perform on stage, and scale to great heights to perform on rocky ledges, among the stalagmites and stalactites. Santa Claus and Bandaged Bear will be there too. It's magical for young and old!
This will be the 22nd 'Carols in the Caves'. A unique event, in the Blue Mountains Tourism Awards of Excellence 2012, ‘Carols in the Caves’ won the ‘Festivals & Events’ award for the third year in a row. We have activities for people of all ages, including guided tours of many spectacular show caves and adventure tours. And don't forget our children's tours, for ages 7 to 12. For grownups and older children, there is a fascinating tour EVERY night, such as the intriguing 'Legends, Mysteries & Ghosts'. For before, after and between cave tours, we offer 3 great new themed bushwalks.
All year round, a bonus for families is the self-guided tour of the Nettle Cave. It's FREE with the purchase of any show cave tour. You can choose from 13 languages. It includes a commentary for young children (in English). And now you can even choose an Aboriginal Culture tour of the Nettle cave (in English) - really fascinating!

We won Gold, Silver and Bronze, to add to our growing collection of trophies!
At the recent New South Wales Tourism Awards, we won the following:
- Gold for Heritage & Cultural Tourism
- Silver for Tourist Attraction
- Bronze for Eco Tourism
Our gold win (for the 3rd year in a row) put Jenolan Caves into NSW Tourism's 'Hall of Fame' for the Heritage & Culture category. Amazing Facts about Caves House

Caves House is Part of Our 'National Identity'!
Jenolan Caves House was listed on the NSW State Heritage Register in 2004. To be listed, Caves House was identified as meeting a range of cultural standards - aesthetic, historic and social, making it significant for past, present and future generations.
In 1897, the grand hotel, Jenolan Caves House, was completed, as a wilderness retreat for the wealthy. It was designed in the Colonial Architect’s office, under the supervision of Colonel Walter Liberty Vernon (1846 – 1914).

We have plenty of parking at Jenolan Caves. But sometimes it's more relaxing to leave your car at home, settle back in a coach and enjoy the scenery.
The wonderful Blue Mountains Bus Company has been bringing visitors to Jenolan Caves for many years, making life easier for travellers!
From Sydney's Central Station, catch a train to Katoomba, at 7:18am (Saturday & Sunday) or 7:25am (Monday to Friday). Then, in Katoomba, get on a Blue Mountains Bus Company coach, which leaves for Jenolan Caves at 9:45 every day. The coach returns you to Katoomba at 5pm.
