Jenolan Caves Survived Recent Storms
|
Powerful Forces of Nature Have Been at Work
It was business as usual throughout the recent floods.
However, carried by rushing water, logs and boulders crashed through the hugh Devil's Coach House cave, tearing out short sections of handrailing and lighting. All caves have now reopened. Tonnes of gravel washed out into the Blue Lake, creating a sand bar. One of the lovliest features of the Orient Cave, the 'Crystal Basin', is now full of water, as is the Imperial Cave's dramatic formation know as the 'Crystal Cities'. On March 31 (Easter Sunday), 9am, experience church, deep underground, in the Cathedral Chamber of the Lucas Cave.
All are welcome to this free, non-denominational service and free morning tea afterwards. This year, our guest speaker will be the CEO of Sydney Christian radio station, Hope 103.2, Phillip Randall. 252 steep stair steps bring you to the Cathedral Chamber. There you can sit, relax and hear the Easter message. Sing well-known songs of praise in the acoustically perfect cave.
